He who covers and forgives an offence seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends! Proverbs 17:9 [AMP]
A brother offended is harder to be won over than a strong city, and their contentions separate them like the bars of a castle. Proverbs 18:19 [AMP]

I stumbled on these verses of scripture and found them quite telling. No wonder couples and in-laws often find it hard to forgive each other when they are offended. As I meditated on them, I understood that the only real way to truly walk in love is not to take the offence that will be readily presented to us at various times.

Easier said then done right? I agree!

However, this is where the Holy Spirit, Our Helper, comes into play – we must chose to walk in love by forgiving the offence and we must then trust God to, by His Spirit, remove the pain [physical and emotional] we experience.

Although it is not easy, it is possible to walk in love towards all.
