Lost in thought over the current state I find myself in, I wondered what happened to me. How on earth did I get to this point where I now feel I’m drowning under a pile of unending burdens? How did I stray from trusting in the Almighty’s wisdom and power, to working it out on my own?
Oh dear me! What is happening?

There is pressure on every living being to survive, to succeed in endeavours and to achieve greatness – in at least one area of life, before we cross the ‘great divide’ between time and eternity. There are several individuals who have acknowledged at one point in their lives that they need the support of the Supernatural to hit these high expectations. These individuals have gone ahead to enter into a covenant of life and peace with the Supernatural, by dedicating themselves and pledging their allegiances for all time. One would think that, this would be the end of the story: a happy-ever-after tale with blue skies and clear waters all the way.

Reality sets in…life happens and they think: wait-a-minute…if I made the right decision, and I am standing by it, why am I not reaping the benefits of supernatural favour, supernatural access and supernatural increase? They think: Oh dear me! What is happening?

From the scriptures we see that, we don’t make a decision once to follow God and then live happily-ever-after! We see that we must make that decision on a daily basis. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers [and sisters], in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12:1 [NIV]
Living sacrifices aren’t offered once-only-once-and-once-for-all. We ‘die’ daily – meaning we willingly lay aside the desires of our bodies which have been born into an imperfect nature, and take on, follow, pursue the desires of our spirits which have been ‘born-again’ into a perfect nature.

Again we see this ‘burden of choice’. We see here that man has a choice to make – on a daily basis. We can choose to wade through the murky waters of life, weighed down by its accompanying burdens or we can choose to walk through those same waters with the navigating power the Almighty God pointing us in the right direction. We can choose to slug it out independently or be guided through by the Omnipotent God.

Everyone has a choice but we are often caught saying (in our own different ways): What should I do? Where do I go? Who do I meet? What options do I have? Oh dear me! What is happening?

Make the right choice today: Choose God!
